Every sand-plant operator eventually meets the feed that defeats the flow sheet: river material with a clay seam, weathered overburden, wet season feed that packs a VSI chamber in an hour. The double-roll crusher is the standard answer — the rolls self-clean, the gap sets the product, and sticky material passes instead of building up.
The SJ.DG.12.80 uses Ø1,200 × 800 mm rolls driven by 2 × 200 kW motors. Throughput is 200–300 t/h with a finished ≤4.75 mm product of 80–160 t/h depending on the feed — the gap is adjustable, so the sand-to-fines split can be tuned in operation.

Design & working principle
- Self-cleaning roll surfaces — the roll profile sheds sticky clay and wet fines instead of packing, which is the whole point of this machine.
- Adjustable gap for product control — the ≤4.75 mm cut is set mechanically and tunable; no chamber geometry to rebuild when the feed changes.
- Twin 200 kW drives with geared coupling — YE3-355M2-6 motors at 995 rpm, 380 V standard, wound to order for other supplies.
- Overload protection — tramp and uncrushable material passes or trips without destroying the roll surface.

How to choose the right model
- This is a niche machine — the right one when feed is sticky or clay-rich and a VSI would blind. On clean hard rock, a cone plus VSI line is normally cheaper per tonne of sand.
- Match the 80–160 t/h finished-sand band to your market before committing; if you need more sand than that, the answer is usually two machines or a VSI line, not one bigger roll.

When would I choose a roll crusher over a VSI?
When the feed sticks. Clay-bound river material and wet overburden blind a VSI chamber and pack a cone; the double-roll passes them. If your feed is clean and dry, this is not your machine — and we will tell you so.
