SJ.V Series Large Jaw Crusher

The SJ.V is the new-generation large jaw crusher — the modern evolution of the traditional jaw: heavier frame, bigger bearings, longer crushing stroke and discharge settings that hold under continuous hard-rock duty. Where an older jaw design reaches its limits, the SJ.V keeps feeding the line.

The jaw crusher is the oldest crushing principle in the industry — and the SJ.V is its modern form. It is not a scaled-up legacy design: the frame is heavier and ribbed for continuous primary duty, the main bearings are oversized, and the eccentric runs a longer stroke at lower speed, which is where the extra tonnage and the more cubical product both come from.

Six models cover feed openings from 580 × 930 mm up to 1,500 × 2,000 mm, with capacities from 120 t/h on the smallest unit to 1,600 t/h on the SJ.V.1500 — enough to feed an SK.D cone stage at full quarry scale.

Where it fits: hard-rock quarry primaries at 400–1,600 t/h, mine surface plants feeding cone stages, and large C&D recycling installations receiving oversized demolition concrete — and as the direct modern replacement for ageing jaw primaries, old or any make.

Design & working principle

  • Heavy ribbed frame with oversized main bearings — sized for the continuous shock loading of large primary duty, not just the static load.
  • Long crushing stroke at low eccentric speed — produces a more cubical primary product and reduces the slabby flake fraction passed to the cone stage.
  • Hydraulic shim-assisted discharge adjustment — setting changes of 60–300 mm without dismantling, so gradation targets do not cost production days.
  • Welded flywheel guards and labyrinth seals — keeps dust out of the bearings in dusty quarry environments; sealed for tropical rain too.
  • Standard skid or foundation mounting — both installation formats are drawn and documented, so your civil design starts from real drawings.

Capacities are for open-circuit operation on medium-hard rock. For blast-feed mines, send the fragmentation photo and sieve analysis — we will check the feed opening against your real lumps, not the catalogue.

Configuration & options

Drive & power

380/415 V 50 Hz standard; 60 Hz wound motors for the Philippines and 60 Hz markets. Soft-start cabinets for weak-grid mines.

Feed arrangement

Vibrating grizzly feeder or steel apron feeder ahead of the jaw; dump hopper and rock-breaker boom interface on request.

Jaw plates

Mn13Cr2 standard; heavy-duty profiles for abrasive granite and basalt primaries.

Structure

Primary hopper, skirt plates and discharge chute fabricated in-house to match — one supplier for the interfaces.

How to choose the right model

  1. Check your largest lump against the feed opening first: the opening must be at least 1.1× the biggest slab, or you will spend the shift breaking oversize with a hammer.
  2. Match the model to continuous duty, not peak feed: the SJ.V is built to hold its capacity all shift, so quote the plant's sustained tonnage and we will size against it.
  3. Then size the discharge setting to feed the cone stage, not to maximise jaw tonnage: the line is only as fast as its tightest machine.

Common questions

SJ.E and SJ.V are both jaw crushers — which one is right for me?

They are two generations of the same principle. The SJ.E is the proven workhorse for standard primary duties up to about 800 t/h; the SJ.V is the new-generation large-jaw platform — heavier frame, bigger bearings, longer stroke — for large continuous hard-rock duty. Tell us the tonnage and rock, and we will put the right generation on the quotation, not the bigger one.

Can the SJ.V replace an ageing jaw primary at an existing plant?

Yes — this is one of its most common duties. Six models, skid or foundation mounting, and discharge settings from 60 to 300 mm mean the new machine can usually be matched to the existing hopper and belt interfaces. Send the old machine's drawings or dimensions and we will check the replacement on paper before you commit.
